The 7 things you should do when you want to run away from your life

things to do when you want to run away from your life

There are times in your life when you just want to leave everything and run away. You think you don’t have the power or will to deal with the mountain of problems in your life or you just don’t like the way you’re life is going.

Your life seems especially crappy when you compare it with others on social media. You may think that the other person might be leading a better life than you but it’s not necessarily true. Life on social media is not always accurate.

Take your own example- I’m sure you have happy and smiling pictures of yourself on social media. Yet, here you are, being upset. Can the person looking at your picture, imagine you being this sad right now? In the same way, you can’t tell what the other person is going through just by looking at their happy pictures.

Understand that hardships are a part of life. No place on earth will provide you with the ultimate safe spot. Just know that everyone has a battle to fight. If everyone just quit because of their problems, the world would stop working.

So what can you do to resist the urge to run away from life?

1. Spend some time alone.

You’re annoyed by life. Everything around you feels messed up. It's understandable, but try not to dwell on negative thoughts.

Stop worrying about everything, sit alone and relax for a moment. Look within yourself. Figure out who you truly are without anybody else’s influence or expectations - Who you are and who you want to be. What do you like about yourself? What do you want to change?

Remember the quote- ‘you can’t control or change anyone except yourself’. When you have faith in your abilities, dealing with everything else will become easier.

2. Go through your childhood pictures.

There’s just something to childhood pictures, they can instantly make you happy. Cherish the innocence you see in those pictures. Would you want to see that happy kid quit and give up on everything? Reminding yourself of the happy times in your life will give you the much-needed boost of positivity to move ahead.

3. Chat with strangers.

Download anonymous chatting apps or join a discussion on an online forum. You’ll be amazed to learn about the kind of lives different people across the world are leading. You will get to learn a lot about their experiences and their take on life. Interacting with different people will help you to get a fresh perspective on life.

4. Exercise.

Exercising makes your body as well as your mind healthier. It makes you more resilient. Exercising is known to reduce stress levels, make you happier and more relaxed. It will also help you to let out your aggression in a healthy way. Choose a form of exercise that you enjoy doing. Walk, run, cycle, dance, or simply grab a hula hoop and sweat it out.

5. Watch random videos.

No doubt, you’ll get hooked. It will take your mind off your troubles. It is necessary because continuously stressing on a particular problem will not make it better. Instead, it will make it seem worse. However, taking a break will give you a better perspective and the ability to think things through.

6. Talk to your loved ones.

Whoever makes you happy. Call your best friend. Or a parent, or an old friend or someone who understands you like nobody else does. Assurance and support from loved ones can really revive you in unpleasant times.

7. Get out and visit different places in your city.

Just go to a place you wouldn’t usually visit. Explore. Observe other people and their behavior. Some people may appear really happy, some angry or sad, or some simply indifferent. Everybody has their reasons to celebrate and be happy, and they also have moments of despair. It’s just how life is.
“Nobody ever figures out what life is all about, and it doesn't matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough.”Richard Feynman
So don’t worry if your life seems messy right now. It’s okay. Believe that you have the ability to get through it.
Just don’t give up yet. Tell yourself -THIS TOO SHALL PASS. Repeatedly. I’m sure the problem you are facing now isn’t the first problem of your life. You have overcome many challenges before and moved on with your life; this time as well, you will be fine.

You may not think so right now, but you are really important to other people in your life. Leaving everything will not only affect you but will also influence other people's lives in a negative way.

So the best thing to do is to be tough and hang on.
