Blogging is hard. Blogging consistently is even harder. You can write several posts at a time when the creative juices are in full flow, but when you can’t think of anything to write about- it can get quite frustrating

Sometimes no matter how hard you try, you just can’t think of a blog topic that is both unique and interesting. Although you do eventually find your way and decide upon a topic to write about, those moments of desperation when you have to write a blog post before the deadline, especially when you can’t think of a topic, can be really taxing.

Here is a list of all the thoughts that crosses the mind of a blogger when they have absolutely no idea what to write about in their next blog post.

1. The deadline is here already?

2. I haven’t even thought of a topic yet!

3. Ugh, I’m completely blank.

i'm blank
4. Why can’t I think of anything? How will I finish the blog post in time?

5. WHAT is UP with me?

6. *Thinks of a blog post idea* Well this is such a unique and awesome idea! I bet no one has done this before.
Types it into google- 1873629273 results on the same topic. Whaaaaaat!

7. Is everything covered already?

8. Oh, come on! I’m sure there are plenty of topics that are not covered yet. I just need to tap those areas.

9. I have done this so many times. I have written so many articles. Why can’t I think of new topics?

10. What happened to my creativity?

11. Do I not have it in me anymore?

12. Okaay. I’m overthinking this. I can definitely do this. I just need to focus.

13. How the hell some bloggers manage to write EVERY SINGLE DAY! Just How!

14. They got some serious skills!

15. I need to work even harder.

16. Breathe. I’m just stressed. The mind stops working properly when you’re stressed. I just need to relax and the ideas will come automatically.

17. Gawd! I need to think even harder.

18. There has to be a way to get through this. *Googles writer’s block*

19. Okay, so I need to do some more brainstorming and more reading and some more brainstorming.

20. *Reads motivational quotes*

21. There are infinite possibilities to everything.

22. It's all part of the hustle.

23. I will develop the tenacity to move forward.

24. But, I still can’t think of anything!

25. How will I go on?

26. Damn it! I’m doomed.

27. NO NO NO negative thinking. You are what you believe. THINK POSITIVE.

28. Yes, I’m absolutely positive, optimistic, hopeful, and confident now.

29. I can totally do this. I can definitely write a great article.

30. BUT FIRST…Let me think of a topic!

<Back to square one>

So what do you guys do when you feel like you have nothing to blog about? Do you take a break, go for a walk or do you just write whatever comes to your mind and then tweak it later?

  1. Haha most of this is me. Though I've never actually googled my blog post before I posted it to see if there were already posts about that. Maybe I should start doing that.

  10. I will go do some research relevant to my field and look for inspiration. Maybe I can find a cool study in psychology and tie it in to how we study. Usually it just gets my brain thinking differently and something will come up.

  11. I'm a newbie blogger, but have had some of these thoughts. The difference, for me, anyway, is that my blog is a faith blog and my posts come from God. My spirit is always "in tune" and even if I'm not actively trying to think of a topic to write about, it just drops into my heart. Then I write a quick note about it so I can complete the post later. I don't worry much about never having anything to write about, because God is backing me up. He is the one who gave me the idea for my blog anyway. ;)

  12. This is so relatable. I took a long blog hiatus a few months back, and I have been getting back into the swing of things for a couple of months now. I was definitely worried about all of these while I was not posting!
